How does hiring in Spain work?
Spain's Estatuto de los Trabajadores governs labour law. Social Security contributions run ~30% on top of gross salary, paid quarterly via Seguridad Social. Indefinite contracts are the default after the 2022 reform; temporary contracts are restricted to narrow categories. The 13-and-14-month pay convention is common and must be modelled into the cost calc.
More topics will be added in upcoming batches: termination, working time, benefits, and the country-specific compliance layer.
Spain employment guides
Spain's payroll math is where most international employers underestimate the bill. Social charges + 14-month convention + severance accrual easily lift a 60K gross into 85K+ fully loaded. Run the numbers carefully before you publish a salary.
