How does hiring in France work?
France's Code du travail runs to 3,000+ pages and is interpreted in favour of the employee in most disputes. Indefinite-term contracts (CDI) are the default; fixed-term contracts (CDD) are tightly restricted. URSSAF handles social charges. Hiring direct without an entity triggers permanent-establishment risk, the same as Germany.
More topics will be added in upcoming batches: termination, working time, benefits, and the country-specific compliance layer.
France employment guides
France is one of the few markets where the EOR-vs-entity math actually favours staying on EOR even at 20+ heads, because the entity overhead is heavy and the EOR pricing is flat. Read the crossover guide before you decide.
