  • What is an Employer of Record, and how does it work for a mid-market team?
    You hire someone in a country where you have no entity. Teamed is the legal employer there. We sign the local contract, run payroll in local currency, withhold tax, deliver statutory benefits, and carry the compliance liability. You direct the work and the outcome. The model lets you skip £45k–£150k of annual entity overhead per country until your headcount makes that overhead worth paying.
  • How much does an Employer of Record cost in 2026?
    Teamed is flat $599 / £479 per employee per month. Zero FX margin. That is the only Teamed fee. Salaries, employer statutory contributions and benefits are passed through at cost, line-by-line. For reference: Deel starts at $599 PEPM and tiers up, Remote is $699 monthly or $599 annual, Oyster is $699 monthly. The FX margin and offboarding terms in the contract are where most of the surprise cost hides.
  • Is using an EOR legal in the UK, US and EU?
    Yes. The EOR model is legal everywhere it's actively used and is the standard mechanism for compliant cross-border hiring without a local entity. The EOR's local entity is the registered employer for tax, social security and labour law. Misclassification risk sits on the contractor model, not on EOR: an EOR employee is a full statutory employee of the EOR's local entity.
  • EOR vs PEO vs staffing agency: which one do I need?
    EOR is for hiring in a country where you have no entity. PEO is US-only and co-employs alongside your own US entity. Staffing agencies supply temporary or project-based workers on their own books. For international hires without local entities, you want EOR. For US payroll and HR offload alongside your own US entity, PEO. For project labour, staffing.
  • When is EOR the wrong model for us?
    At roughly 10–15 permanent employees in a single country, your own local entity becomes cheaper than the EOR fee at scale. Other triggers: a customer contract that requires a locally registered supplier, substantial physical operations, or permanent-establishment risk. EOR is the right model until it isn't. Complex markets (Brazil, India, China, parts of LATAM) take 5 to 7 business days because of in-country registration and background checks. We give you a specific lead time per country before you commit, and we don't start the clock until the employee has signed.
  • What happens when an employee needs to be terminated?
    Your specialist employment law expert drafts the documentation to local law: notice periods, statutory severance, accrued holiday, garden leave, settlement agreements, tax clearance.
